Do you know God loves you? In this well known verse God tells us just how much He loves us; "For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) God loves you so much that He became a man (His Son, Jesus Christ) so that He could die in your place.
Why would God have to die for you? Romans gives the answer; "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Nobody is perfect. All of us have done, thought, or said wrong things or failed to do the right thing many times. Because of our sinfulness, there is no way we can get to Heaven on our own! The Bible tells us the price of our sins; "For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23a).
God became man (Jesus Christ) and completely paid for our sins when He died on the cross. Three days later, He rose again from the dead to prove that He was God, and made the way for us to receive "… the free gift of God (which) is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23b). Through His death and resurrection, Jesus has purchased eternal life for you!
God promises "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13). You can receive the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life by simply asking Jesus Christ to come into your life.
